Handicap Calculation Engine
The core of the platform, compliant CONGU and WHS calculations with configurable rules, caps and recalculation.
CONGU Method
Full Committee of National Golf Unions calculation with category multipliers, a baseline of 72 + playing handicap, and a configurable increase threshold.
World Handicap System (WHS)
WHS calculation using slope and course rating differentials. Uses the best differentials from the last 20 rounds per rule set, with database-driven rule tables.
Custom Handicap Categories
Organiser-defined categories per group with handicap ranges, reduction multipliers and sort order. Fully replaces built-in defaults.
Per-Stroke Category Crossing
Reduction is applied one stroke at a time across category boundaries, so a player crossing from Category 2 into Category 1 mid-round gets the correct multiplier for each stroke.
Configurable Increase Threshold
The CONGU buffer zone is configurable per group, the number of strokes over baseline before the 0.1 increase kicks in. Defaults to category-level buffers.
9-Hole Score Support
9-hole scores are doubled to an 18-hole equivalent before calculation. Submitted as 9 holes in records but treated correctly in the maths.
Per-Hole Score Caps
Four cap modes, Net Double Bogey, Net Triple Bogey, Net Par and Gross Double Bogey, applied hole-by-hole using stroke index and playing handicap.
Maximum Handicap Cap
Global system-wide cap plus per-group override. Prevents increases beyond the cap; reductions are never blocked.
Back-Dated Score Handling
When a score is entered for an earlier date, all subsequent rounds are replayed from the original handicap to correct every differential and pivot.
Handicap Recalculation
Manual full replay from the original handicap for any player. Corrects all differentials, pivots and history records in chronological order.
Group Settings Snapshots
Method, threshold and cap are snapshotted at each round. Recalculation uses the settings that were active when each score was submitted.
Allowance Percentage
Per-group playing handicap allowance (e.g. 90%), applied to net scores and shown as "playing handicap" alongside the full index.
Group Management
Run many groups at once, each independently configured, audited and shareable.
Multiple Groups per Organiser
Each organiser account manages multiple handicap groups, subject to their subscription package's group limit.
Per-Group Calculation Method
Each group independently selects CONGU or WHS. Slope usage, max score per hole and nine-hole allowance are all per-group.
Public / Private Groups
Groups can be public via a shareable link with no login, or kept private. Public groups power the Group Viewer dashboard.
Settings History Audit
Every change to group settings is recorded, showing what changed and when, linked to the snapshot used for each round.
Export Player Lists
Generate and download formatted player lists, name, gender, current handicap, for draw sheets or club systems.
Multi-Group Player Membership
A player can belong to multiple groups at once, each membership carrying its own display name, gender, handicap and original handicap.
Exceptional Score Reduction
Configurable threshold, rounds significantly below expected trigger an additional reduction beyond the standard calculation.
Playing Conditions Adjustment
A WHS-compliant playing conditions coefficient can be toggled per group to adjust differentials for extreme weather.

Add / Edit / Remove Players
Full CRUD for players under each organiser. Players are sub-accounts with their own login and a player-facing dashboard.
CSV Bulk Import
Import players from CSV with name, gender, handicap and group assignment. Handles UTF-8 BOM from Excel exports automatically.
CSV Export
Export the full player list for a group as a CSV, name, handicap, gender, last played date.
Per-Group Display Name
A player can have a different display name in each group. Falls back to the account name if not set.
Handicap Progress Chart
Interactive line chart of handicap trajectory across all rounds, with dark-mode support and hover tooltips.
Full Round History
Per-player history with gross, net, HCP before and after, course name and date. Sortable by any column.
Manual Handicap Override
Organisers can set a player's handicap at any time, for new entries or corrections. The original handicap is preserved separately.
Player Profile Page
A dedicated detail page showing current handicap, group memberships, score history and progress chart.
Entry Date Guard
Scores can't be submitted for dates before a player's entry date, preventing historical data corruption.
Score Submission
Fast, cap-aware score entry by form, by CSV or by API with duplicate protection.
Manual Score Entry
A web form for one round for up to 10 players at once. Supports total score or hole-by-hole entry with live cap enforcement.
Hole-by-Hole Scoring
Enter individual hole scores (1 to 18). Per-hole caps are applied server-side using stroke index and current handicap.
CSV Score Import
Import a full event from CSV. Supports player_name, total_score or hole_1…hole_18 columns, and skips duplicate dates automatically.
Score Batches
Each submission creates a batch record grouping all players in that event, viewable with a per-batch score breakdown.
Duplicate Detection
Prevents two scores for the same player on the same date. API submissions deduplicate by external event ID rather than date alone.
Score Delete with Adjustment
Deleting a score reverses its differential from the current handicap and removes the associated history record.
CSV Template Download
Download pre-formatted import templates in hole-by-hole or total-score format, pre-populated with sample rows.
Course Database
A shared, searchable course library with multiple tees and hole-level detail.
Course Library
Shared database with name, country, city, course rating and slope rating. Browseable and searchable by all organiser accounts.
Multiple Tees per Course
Each course supports multiple tee sets, each with its own course and slope rating for WHS differential calculation.
Hole-by-Hole Configuration

Public Leaderboard
A shareable URL showing all players with current handicap, playing handicap and last played date. No login for public groups.
Sortable Columns
Sort by player name, handicap or last played date. Defaults to handicap ascending, with sort state persisted in the URL.
Player Handicap History
A per-player page with full round history: date, course, gross, net, HCP before and after, and change. Sortable by all columns.
Embedded Progress Chart
A handicap trajectory chart embedded on the player history page, the same chart used in the admin view.
Round Detail View
A full round leaderboard for a specific event showing every player's gross, net and HCP before/after. Sortable, defaults to net ascending.
Dark Mode
Public dashboard supports a dark colour scheme for comfortable viewing in low light.
